Our mission

BlueHour leads small-group photography experiences focused on developing the technical and artistic skills needed for photographers to confidently capture their unique interpretation of some of the most picturesque destinations in the world.

BlueHour seeks to provide an intimate and judgment-free environment to photographers of all ability levels and develop their confidence in their future photographic endeavors. We also strongly believe in being stewards of nature and of all of the environments we travel to and photograph, and in developing positive relationships with others in the photographic community and our communities at large.

BlueHour seeks to create a level playing field for photographers of all ages, genders, races, sexualities and experience level. We reflect these values in our offerings and in our hiring process for instructors. We aim to provide an inclusive environment where all can succeed regardless of background.

Our goal is also to respectfully and peacefully co-exist with other photographers and non-photographers both on-location and off, and we educate all of our instructors and students in these principles. We see it as our duty to emphasize respect, to “leave no trace,” and to leave a positive impression on all those we encounter.
